Batik tulis is drawn by hand with a canting, a small copper pen that lays down hot wax, so each piece is unique and takes days to make; at D'Rose Batik it costs RM 150 to RM 800. Batik cap is printed with a copper block, repeats its motif, and costs RM 35 to RM 120.

How should I wash batik?
Wash batik by hand in cold water with a mild detergent, do not soak for more than 5 minutes, and dry in the shade inside out. Iron on low heat on the reverse side. Handled this way, a D'Rose Batik piece keeps its colour for years.
